As of today, four-limbed dragons are now called quottars dragons. Took me a while to find a spelling I liked for that.
Limbless dragons are probably called nullars dragons and two-limbed dragons are probably called binars.
Six-limbed dragons are still called hexarts. I’m guessing they were once known as hexars dragons in the old days, but then the language shifted.
The Votsal. I forget where exactly its name comes from, but it’s a bad translation of something, anyway. As soon as I saw that word, probably thinking of this, I had to transform it into an iridescent green quetzal-like Hexartoid.
I imagined them as living in trees, so they have rotatable scutes that can grip branches. They’re supposed to have the ability to do gliding jumps from tree to tree, which the “hood” of plumes (it expands and contracts a bit like a hognose snake) was supposed to help with.
Oh gosh, the votsal is so floofy.
Also, amusingly enough, it’s a very vibrant green because I couldn’t get the word “quetzal” out of my mind when drawing it.
And I think it’s probably one of my more creative “normal” creature designs.
So what does my brain do? It starts endlessly playing fragments of the dhmis song over and over as if to scold me. :p
I can’t stop saying votsal now
