And finally for the moment, my chart that was supposed to have all the Agent Archetype MBs… before I decided to redo attitudes (the columns) in a much better simpler quadrant grid rendering this chart outdated.
I’ll be making my next chart digitally, because redrawing things when you can’t just move them (like I did once or twice here) is a pain.
The interval between these only gets longer, but at least this time it’s mostly because I’ve actually been posting things as proper posts instead of in here. Still, there are a few things.
First, the Observers’ colour is apparently called “atoll” as I found out on this neat website. Neat bit of trivia. I remember back when all MBs were going to be variations of that colour, a time this post still hasn’t gotten out of.
You’d think it would take me a matter of minutes to trace a stupid duck and fit it into the interface, but it was actually really hard
While making the Clarity symbol I was suddenly reminded of “what, exactly, is the function of a rubber duck?” and for a moment I saw the Obtruder in this entirely different context of it just staring at you like
what is my meaning
tell me, or I will eat your soul
Well, it turned out that in addition to the eyes there was also an actual problem with shadows. But, I fixed the lights.
So have a bunch of silly vacant rubber ducks.
Who’s that Pokémon?
I thought something was wrong with my light setup and messed around with the lights a whole lot but then I went and disabled the texture on one of the materials and found out that no, those weren’t shadows, this stupid duck’s eyes had somehow bled out all over it. :p
Homestuck AU where this duck is the first guardian
Hoo boy, another mess. Let’s start with the Infiltrator.
Yesterday River Monsters reminded me that skates existed, so I looked them up and I was just like whoa look at these things they’re so crazy. They almost look like an MB already, haha.
So, I thought, why not turn them into one? And I started designing this skate/ray MB that can flatten and extend its body seemingly endlessly in order to eavesdrop on everyone and everything (yeah, somehow its skin can just kinda hear I guess.
Fun fact: I half-considered making the Obtruder an elephant or partways an elephant (a duck with a trunk or something) because it’s basically kind of like “the elephant in the room” everybody would rather ignore, but decided against it because it was supposed to be really simple and featureless in form and I felt like it would have too much individual character that way.
