So the other day I was having a stupid little thought about people having Reflector MBs that could act as mini-Hfenixata. I haven’t talked about Reflectors much cause they haven’t been developed very much but basically they reside in a host and then the host and Reflector sort of “reflect” each other, that is, bring out hidden qualities of each other through their intertwinedness. They’re basically a carryover from my dropped (and in-reboot) Tyrian project, where they were inspired by the shadows in Blue Dragon Ral Grad* (which in turn first appeared in Blue Dragon).
Although Yanha starts out in the Aether, one of the things they can definitely do is find a route to escape out of the Aether into Aluma. Probably at the Borderlands, since that’s the Designated Place Most MBs Enter Aluma, but it would be funny if they could enter Ssiyin’s being before Ssiassi did and unknowingly prevent that happening
So Ssivyin just has Yanha instead of Ssiassi
That would be a cool alternate story route that’s definitely canon now, but it really makes me wonder
If Ssivyin is so similar to Ssingalain, having a similar appearance, the disaffine hero thing, the (spoilers :p) name Nall/Null upon becoming it, and adopting the Song of Ssingalain as a myth and stuff
Does that mean Ssingalain was a furry had an MB intertwined with them too? It would probably look like a leijonœrn considering their name. But it would be… maybe a Veriaszar? I need to at some point fix MB archetypes like that for the new attitude system.
I just figured out why Aluma has these impossible-sounding mythical creatures that in reality all happen to coalesce in the flaredrakeicorn and the kamaileopard
Eight different Antecedents each saw one of Arkturuse’s two Patron-Accessories and each one had a different impression of it. For instance Vistula the Dawn looked at Xera Flaredrakeicorn and saw them as a bright white griffin-like creature with a bluegreen shimmer, the “umao”, some Antecedent in Grævonia looked at them and went ‘oh it’s a bright kinda fiery thing this obviously must be the Phoenix’
With Zyra Kamaileopard there are these extinct creatures right and so the Antecedents look at it and they think they see the extinct creatures, kind of an amusing inversion of a cryptid story where people find the ‘bigfoot’ in something way more amazing that nobody realises exists because people were too busy talking about cryptids
That makes me think, it’s kinda possible other Aetherbosses’ Accessories had some role in Aluma too. I can’t immediately think of what Rosetta and Clearfill would be doing, but Dark Teapot is already known to have done stuff in Aluma under a male persona called Sigmund Wren. It’s possible The Air and Spiral may have followed him during that time.
Random thoughts today
I bet Spiritissima can probably weaponise Soul into a gun that blows up Eterea
Gents come from Vvaghras really and just got established in the Capital, but now they’re very much a Hinotorian thing
Insulators have two shields, their face shield and their chest shield and maybe while the chest shield can defend against physical blows the face shield can defend against mental stress which could be dispelled by Verity, e.g. if somebody is trying to use a Compulsion thing on you they can put their face shield in front of you or if you’re anxious for irrational reasons and an Insulator touches their face shield to you it will have a calming effect
So for a long time I had this idea of the “flaredrakeicorn” and the idea Mega-Mierundaro/Arkturuse would have two Accessories that each represented Xai and Zed but I never really had them designed. It is now time to fix that.
Arkturuse’s Accessories are made of these mythical animals:
flaredrakeicorn: Es – AEX (flardraco) / U – TEZ (phoenix) / W – ATX (unicorn) / V – ATZ (griffin thing)
kamaileopard: Ft – AEZ (leijon) / Fn – TEX (cœlailurus) / M – TTZ (kamaileo) / S –
Here’s another Stablehand post I have G.E.M. to thank for. Note: if this sounds like guidebook material it’s cause it kind of is. Probably this’ll be rewritten and put in the guidebook in some form later.
So… Eterea have this thing called sustanszia (“substance”). Literally, it’s how much aethereal matter is in them. Practically, it acts like kind of a combined HP gauge and power level.
First of all, Eterea need a small amount of it to exist. If it runs out, they basically die.
Biotranscendents first learn the ropes by fusing living things into them, then learn to simply modify their body without this aid. Serval’s cat features came from a fusion with his cat when he was first learning, then he probably had a stage where he kept a serval, but now his serval features are his own he made independently.
In the Epic Age, Verity and Esteem both had more prominence than they have now. Now, Unity is one attribute that definitely has a lot of prominence.
In the Epic Age,
He and Hughes were originally members of the Kolonok expedition, who all got voidified and basically killed, but cause they merged with the void these two, at least, came back as voidfolk later*. Sleip has a bunch of different forms, all assumable via various cards that randomly appeared in his wallet when he was reborn. From Sleip’s point of view, he just woke up one day at 20~30something without a past or an identity.
Sleip and Hughes currently live in Sanctuary City, Salvare, a slightly suspicious city that doesn’t ask questions and as long as it doesn’t openly catch you doing anything (it wants to keep its streets safe for all who stay carefully out of trouble),
I’m making the post about Yanha on the same day as the Nassak post cause it made me think
Agency as it applies to Stablehand (as one of the four fundamental attunes) is defined as coherence as an entity with personality and substance plus ability to perceive, think, and act. The opposite of a being which is an agent is a theme.
I typically sum it up as, “are you a person or are you an abstract concept?”.
That’s the main definition of agency. However another element of agency is having a timeline.
